We required a confidential search to recruit a higher level of talent to manage our payroll
What was the impact of this challenge?
As payroll is such a sensitive area, the finance team needed to ensure continuity in terms of everyone getting an accurate paycheque when there is a change of personnel.
We were able to recruit the right person and bring them in on a project until we made the change, which gave the new recruit the opportunity to get familiar with our processes, and gave the finance team a higher level of comfort around managing the change.
What capabilities were you looking for in a recruitment partner, and why did you choose us?
Well, the fact that Portfolio is focused on payroll is a big deal. There are no other recruiting firms specialising in payroll. There are other recruiting firms that focus on finance roles, including payroll positions, but payroll, specifically, is not their focus.
I have used recruiters in the past to assist with different finance roles, but the calibre of people was not at the level we needed, and would have meant extra training for them. With Portfolio, where they have a specialist team only dealing with payroll specialists, it was the best option for us.

Yes, definitely. Right now, I see Portfolio as the premier recruiter for payroll, so if we had another payroll role, we would come to them specifically. All candidates, put forward by Portfolio were top-notch. I was very impressed by the quality of the candidates.
