Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading Bedfordshire based client to recruit for a Buyer.
Purpose of role:
- Management of company’s supplier base
- Identify new suppliers
- Drive New Product development
Main Responsibilities:
- Day to day management of supply base.
- Product sourcing to include assessing suppliers’ suitability.
- Managing supplier contracts, agreement, and price.
- Attending supplier meetings, trade shows and business trips
- Project management of new product introductions
- Supporting the inventory control team with resolution of all supply chain issues.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience required
- Educated to Degree level
- Strong maths skills
- 2 years’ experience in an OEM manufacturing environment
- Proven experience of delivering savings
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong computer experience including Excel.
