Our client is looking for a Pensions & Payroll Specialist to join their team on a 6-month temporary basis. This role is heavily focused on pensions, so experience within the education sector, particularly with LGPS & TPS, is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Payroll and Pensions Manager to develop and implement pension processes and guidance, ensuring compliance with university policies and statutory regulations.
- Manage monthly reconciliation of pension contributions, ensuring accurate reporting for TPS, LGPS, NEST, and NHS Stakeholder Pension schemes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee pension queries, providing expert advice and resolving complex issues.
- Administer pension schemes, including data input, contribution deductions, and compliance reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate pension-related communications, keeping employees informed about scheme changes, annual allowances, and HMRC regulations.
- Conduct audits and compliance checks, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Provide customer-focused support on payroll and pension matters, ensuring service standards and deadlines are met.
- Maintain strong relationships with external pension bodies and stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and compliance.
- Stay up to date with legislative changes affecting pensions, advising on necessary adjustments to policies and processes.
- Generate management reports on pension data, working closely with Financial Services on statutory submissions.
What We’re Looking For
- Significant pensions experience within the education sector (LGPS & TPS essential).
- Strong technical knowledge of pension administration, compliance, and legislation.
- Proven experience in payroll and pension reconciliation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex queries.
- Strong communication skills with experience liaising with employees, pension providers, and external bodies.
