This is an office-based, part-time role with flexible hours – ideal for someone detail-oriented, organised, and keen to play a key role in a fast-paced payroll function within a chartered accountancy firm.
The Role
As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll support the Payroll Manager in delivering a seamless payroll and pension service across a portfolio of 200 clients, ranging from 1-300 employees. Working as part of a small, dedicated team, you’ll be responsible for:
- Processing end-to-end payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Managing payroll calculations, deductions, and statutory payments (PAYE, National Insurance, pensions).
- Handling client queries and providing expert payroll advice.
- Preparing and submitting payroll reports to clients and regulatory bodies.
- Assisting with the setup and management of new client payrolls.
- Supporting continuous improvements in payroll processes and systems.
- Training and mentoring junior payroll staff where required.

- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance, and systems.
- A proactive and organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Sage 50 Payroll.
