A well-established organisation is seeking a Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent, remote basis. This is a confidential opportunity within a purpose-driven and dynamic environment where payroll plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations. This position offers comprehensive ownership of the payroll function, managing end-to-end payroll processes while also supporting key areas such as benefits administration, compliance, and system improvements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Start-to-Finish Payroll Processing
- Benefits & P11Ds – Overseeing benefits administration, including salary sacrifice schemes and taxable benefits, while preparing annual P11D submissions.
- Audit & Compliance – Supporting internal and external audits, ensuring payroll processes meet legislative requirements, and driving continuous improvements.
- System Maintenance & Updates – Ensuring payroll systems remain up to date, troubleshooting technical issues, and working on system enhancements.
- Collaboration & Support – Acting as a key point of contact for payroll queries, working closely with HR, finance, and external providers to maintain a seamless payroll function.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Strong experience in payroll processing, ideally within a complex or multi-entity environment.
- Knowledge of benefits administration, including pensions, salary sacrifice, and taxable benefits.
- A solid understanding of statutory payroll legislation, tax codes, and P11Ds.
- Experience supporting payroll audits and working to improve payroll controls and processes.
- Technical aptitude for payroll system maintenance and updates, with the ability to troubleshoot and enhance functionality.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently across departments.
