      • The Senior Payroll Specialist is tasked with overseeing the precise and timely processing of payroll for employees across multiple divisions, including corporate, retail, and manufacturing teams. The role focuses heavily on Canadian payroll management, alongside U.S. payroll responsibilities. This position requires a high-energy individual with strong organizational skills,
      • Core Responsibilities:
      • Serve as the key expert, offering guidance and support to Payroll Coordinators while managing large-scale, multi-country payroll operations across several pay groups.
      • Handle full-cycle payroll processing for the manufacturing sector, including end-of-year reporting and compliance tasks.
      • Collaborate with third-party payroll vendors in Europe to accurately process monthly earnings, deductions, taxes, and adjustments.
      • Maintain payroll data management, including changes to master files, employee earnings, deductions, and records for new hires or terminations.
      • Ensure the payroll information is balanced and accurate across all deductions, taxes, and earnings.
      • Secure necessary approvals for payrolls in Europe and Hong Kong divisions, including managing payments and fund transfers with payroll service providers.
      • Liaise with European Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting for accounting purposes.
      • Provide documents and assistance for audit purposes, particularly in response to European audit requests.
      • Troubleshoot and resolve system, tool, or process issues by working closely with payroll providers and internal departments.
      • Analyze payroll data regularly to detect trends, identify issues, and recommend areas for improvement.
      • Spearhead process improvement initiatives to optimize payroll efficiency and ensure continuous improvement.
      • Document payroll processes and share them with the team to enhance collaboration and consistency.
      • Respond promptly to inquiries from various departments such as Finance, HR, Audit, and Legal, providing clear and timely updates.
      • Maintain organized and easily accessible payroll records and communications.
      • Assist the Payroll Manager in the Year-End reconciliation, ensuring accurate and timely processing of year-end forms like T4 and W2.
      • Amend and process Year-End forms (T4, W-2, etc.) when necessary and interact with government agencies to resolve issues.
      • Serve as backup for the Payroll Manager as required and provide assistance for project work or additional duties.
      • Required Experience, Qualifications, and Certifications:
      • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing full-cycle payroll processing in large organizations with 5,000+ employees.
      • Postsecondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
      • Certification from the Canadian Payroll Association (PCP) is mandatory; CPM/CPP certifications are a plus.
      • Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment laws, payroll regulations, and multi-provincial payroll practices.
      • Familiarity with international payroll laws, including regulations for multiple countries, is essential.
      • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce or a similar payroll platform is required.
      • Prior experience with unionized environments, manufacturing, and retail payroll systems is advantageous.
