Our client seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, compliance management, and team collaboration. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions, maintaining compliance with government regulations, and providing support for payroll-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle biweekly, monthly, and quarterly payrolls across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on Quebec payroll regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local payroll regulations, including Quebec-specific requirements.
- Calculate, report, and remit federal, provincial, and local payroll taxes accurately. Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and adjust payroll systems accordingly.
- Process employee garnishments, including child support, tax levies, and creditor garnishments. Communicate with employees and external agencies regarding garnishment orders.
- Reconcile payroll tax filings and garnishment deductions. Prepare and review payroll reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Balance, prepare, and issue year-end documentation for all provincial and federal requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and define standards for new processes.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, with a focus on Quebec payroll processing.
- PCP certification or in progress.
- Experience with ADP.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
- Strong understanding of Canadian payroll laws and regulations, particularly in Quebec.
