Payroll Analyst Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Payroll Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Ceridian Dayforce conigurations, with a keen eye for accuracy. A Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) accreditation from the National Payroll Institute is an asset. The Payroll Analyst will stay up to date on changes to the Employment Standards Act and other regulations affecting payroll.
Emphasis on DAYFORCE – Know dayfroce – any configurations, back end, vacation, make sure system is calculating things corectly
Excel – Pivot Tables, V looks up etc
Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
Ensure all data files are complete and approved for transmission to the payroll service provider.
Review and verify the accuracy of timesheets and other payroll-related documents.
Track and input all garnishments and special payroll deductions.
Administer the distribution of T4’s, ROE’s, T2200 forms, and other payroll-related reports as required.
Ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and wages in compliance with regulations.
Work closely with HR and other departments to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payroll and employee records.
Assist in the preparation of year-end reports and the filing of annual returns with federal and provincial authorities.
Prioritize tasks effectively to meet payroll deadlines.
Maintain confidentiality of employee records.
Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure timely completion of payroll duties.
What You Bring:
PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification or progress toward obtaining it is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of payroll legislation and the Employment Standards Act across Canada.
Proficiency in Excel.
A minimum of 5 years of payroll experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively within a team and prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines.
High attention to detail with strong numeracy skills.
Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
